TOUR ITINERARYDays 1-2: South Africa / SeoulFly to Seoul overnight with Cathay Pacific, upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel for the next 2 nights. Day 3: SeoulEnjoy a morning seat in coach tour of Seoul visiting the Gyeongbok Palace, National Folk Museum, Jogye Temple and Ginseng Centre. You will also drive past the Presidential Blue House. This afternoon enjoy time at leisure in Itaewon. This afternoon you will be transferred to Itaewon where you can enjoy the afternoon at leisure to further explore this fascinating city. Make your own way back to your hotel. (B) Day 4: Seoul / GyeongjuThis morning you will be transferred by coach to Seoul railway station where you will board the train to Gyeongju for the next 2 nights, the historical centre and capital of the former Shilla Kingdom. Upon arrival at Gyeongju railway station make your own way to your hotel. (B) Day 5: GyeongjuEnjoy a seat in coach day tour around Gyeongju visiting two of the UNESCO World Heritage Temples; the magnificent Bulkuksa Temple and the Seokuram Grotto., where a seated image of the serene Sakyamuni Buddha looks out over the mountainous landscapes. Afterwards fly to Jeju Island. for the next two nights. Upon arrival make your own way to your hotel. (B) Day 7: JejuToday’s activities include the Jeju Folklore and Natural History Museum and the Samsunghyol Shrine, followed by afternoon visits to Sunrise peak, the lava caves of Manjang and the volcanic crater at Sangumburi. (B) Day 8: Jeju/SeoulEnjoy sightseeing today visiting Hallim Park, Peace Museum, Cheongbang waterfalls and the Seongeup Folk Village which was a former provincial capital, before boarding our flight back to Seoul. for 2 nights. Upon arrival at Seoul airport make your own way to your hotel. (B) Day 9: Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) & PanmunjomTravel by coach to the DMZ where you will visit the 3rd Infiltration Tunnel, Dora Observatory and the Unification village. In Imjinkak we visit Freedom Bridge and the Peace Bell. Later this afternoon travel to Panmunjeom, the ‘truce village’ which is the site of the Korean War cease fire in 1953 and where ongoing peace talks between North and South Korea continue. Here you will visit the Military Demarcation line, the North Korean Border, the propaganda village and the Bridge of No Return. (B) Day 10: SeoulEnjoy the morning at leisure before making your own way to the airport for your overnight flight home to South Africa. (B) Day 11: Arrive South AfricaArrive home in Johannesburg the following morning. |
