At Wendy Wu Tours we are aware that tourism can impact the natural, economic, and social environment and we are committed to addressing these wherever possible without compromising our customers’ experience.

We believe that when visiting a place, it is important to not only feel, see, learn and experience, but to also give something back. We do this partly by supporting charities in Asia; and also by supporting local enterprise. When travelling with us through China, you’ll notice that we take you to locally owned restaurants and shops. It’s very important to us to be able to support the businesses that are the livelihood of so many Chinese people. Visits to these places are a great opportunity for you to taste authentic local food, and to learn about and see traditional crafts, and take a small piece of China home with you.

In addition, with Responsible Tourism in mind, for every person who travels with Wendy Wu Tours, we make a donation to a carefully selected charity based in the countries we operate. The following are some of the charities which we are proud to support:

Stepping Stone

With a mission to improve the education and welfare of disadvantaged students in China, this charity provides free English lessons to 4,000 students per week in migrant schools throughout Shanghai. www.steppingstoneschina.net

KOTO

KOTO is a not-for-profit restaurant and vocational training program based in Hanoi whose staff consists of former street children who receive training in catering and life skills. koto.com.au

FEPC

Our brochure contains material sourced from sustainably managed forests, certified in accordance with the PEFC (The Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes).

Climate Care

At Wendy Wu Tours we fully appreciate the importance of sustainability, are aware of the implications our operation has on the natural, economic and social environment and are committed to mitigate negative impacts wherever possible without compromising on the customer experience.


In our UK office, we have guidelines in place to keep the usage of paper at a minimum, recycle most of the paper we use, are sourcing environmentally friendly office and marketing supplies wherever possible, and facilitate alternative and sustainable modes of transport to work.

Wendy Wu Tours has also teamed up with JP Morgan’s Climate Care to enable our customers to offset some of the greenhouse gas emissions caused by their holiday and to play a part in tackling climate change. We ourselves are off-setting 10 tonnes of CO2 emissions every year to make up for some of the carbon footprint caused by our office.

Climate Care uses the money generated by this scheme to fund a portfolio of projects around the world that reduces emissions.
